Somatic Coaching & Consultation

Somatic Consultation: Frequently Asked Questions
A Trauma-Informed Framework for Physical & Relational Change
Conventional therapy and mindset work often stop at the level of thinking. Learn how psychosomatic coaching differs from talk therapy, how the PSR Method™ supports nervous system regulation, and what to expect from the process.
Frequently asked questions
What are psychosomatic symptoms?
Psychosomatic symptoms are physical manifestations of emotional or relational stress, such as chronic pain, fatigue, or gut issues. They represent the body’s adaptation to unprocessed stress that has not resolved through conventional medical or cognitive approaches.
What is somatic consultation, and how is it different from talk therapy?
While talk therapy is primarily analytical (working with the "why"), somatic consultation works directly with the "how"—specifically, how patterns are held in your nervous system in real time. We focus on shifting the physical "record" of a pattern rather than just reframing it intellectually.

What are the core tools used in your work?
I use real-time somatic tracking to observe how your nervous system organises under pressure. My work integrates IFS-informed parts inquiry, attachment dynamics, and Somatic Experiencing® to address patterns where they are actually maintained: in the body.
What is the Psychosomatic Restoration Method™?
The PSR Method™ is a structured framework for identifying and shifting the root patterns beneath persistent physical symptoms and high-functioning adaptation. It focuses on changing the internal conditions that require a symptom to exist rather than just managing the symptom itself.
Who is this work for?
This work is often a good fit if:you’ve done therapy but still feel stuckyou’re functioning, but your body isn’tyou keep repeating the same relationship or work patternsinsight hasn’t translated into lasting change
What happens in a Strategic Deep Dive?
We identify the core pattern beneath one issue and work with it in real time. The goal isn’t more insight—it’s creating movement where you’ve felt stuck.
Do I need to commit to ongoing work?
No. The Deep Dive is a standalone session. If ongoing work would genuinely help, we’ll discuss it afterwards—not beforehand.
Is one session enough to create real change?
Sometimes. One session can create meaningful change. More complex patterns may benefit from ongoing work. It depends on the pattern itself.
Do you offer one-off sessions?
Yes, I offer a 90-minute Strategic Deep Dive session to identify core patterns and clarify direction. Ongoing work is available in structured containers for those ready to stabilise deeper internal changes.
How often are sessions held?
For ongoing work, sessions are structured within a defined container rather than on an open-ended schedule.
Frequency and duration are agreed in advance to create consistency, pacing, and accountability.
Do you offer in-person or online sessions?
I work with international clients via secure video.
Note: I am currently relocating my practice from Berlin to Victoria, BC. Online sessions remain available globally.

Is one session enough to create real change?
Sometimes. A single session can create a meaningful shift when the core pattern becomes clear. Some people experience lasting change from one session. Others benefit from continuing the work, depending on the depth and complexity of the pattern.
Is this only for people with a trauma diagnosis?
No, a formal diagnosis is not required, as the focus is on how your system is currently organised rather than a clinical label. We work with the protective patterns and adaptations that prevent you from functioning with ease, regardless of history.
What specific issues can this help with?
This approach helps resolve patterns like chronic pain, burnout, over-responsibility, relational withdrawal, and the inability to act on clear decisions. These are treated as systemic adaptations rather than isolated medical problems.
Can somatic work really be done effectively online?
Yes, working online often increases clarity because the focus remains entirely on the internal tracking of patterns rather than physical touch. It provides a consistent, contained space that many clients find more conducive to deep somatic processing.

Who is practitioner consultation for?
This is for therapists, coaches, and leaders who notice recurring patterns of burnout or boundary strain in their professional roles. It is for those who want to understand the somatic load of holding responsibility for others.
How does this differ from traditional supervision?
While I do not provide "Clinical Supervision" for licensing purposes, I offer Somatic Case Consultation. We focus on the relational and somatic dynamics between you and your clients—specifically where you feel "stuck," over-responsible, or "hooked" (countertransference).
What’s the difference between ongoing consultation and a single session?
A 90-minute Deep Dive focuses on one specific issue and clarifies the core pattern. The 3-month ongoing container works with patterns that repeat over time, allowing for deeper tracking and integration.
Most people start with a single session to identify the core theme before committing to ongoing work.
Can we discuss business patterns like undercharging?
Yes. Professional issues like undercharging, over-giving, or avoiding visibility are almost always nervous system adaptations. We work to shift these at the somatic level so that your professional structures become naturally sustainable.
Are you a therapist or a coach?
I am a Somatic Consultant and trauma-informed practitioner. I am not a licensed psychotherapist or psychologist. My work is an unregulated, specialised discipline that draws from somatic, relational, and depth-based fields. It is a complement to, not a replacement for, clinical psychiatric care.
Is this a clinical or diagnostic service?
No, this is a non-clinical service and does not provide medical advice, psychiatric diagnosis, or crisis intervention. This work should be used as a complement to, not a replacement for, appropriate medical or clinical care.
Do you work with neurodivergent clients?
Yes, I offer a non-pathologising approach for clients with ADHD, Autism, and sensory processing differences. The focus is on understanding how your unique system organises experience rather than attempting to "fix" or normalise it.
Who is this work NOT a fit for?
This work is not suitable for those in active crisis, those requiring emergency psychiatric support, or individuals seeking a passive, validation-only environment. It is an active, participatory process that requires a willingness to engage with internal patterns.
