Session Guidelines

This page outlines the session framework and relational agreements that support this work. It’s designed to help you understand what to expect, how to engage with the process, and how responsibility is shared within this container.

You’ll receive a full Client Agreement during your first official session, which we’ll take time to review together. The agreement must be signed before your second session.

Introductory Session

The introductory session is a one-off space to explore fit. It allows us to assess whether working together is appropriate at this time. Ongoing work is not guaranteed following this session. Further details can be found here

First Session (Post-Intro)

If we decide to continue, the first session marks the formal start of our work. We will begin engaging with your system and goals directly while also reviewing the Client Agreement—including the structure, rhythm, and expectations of this work.

Online Session Etiquette

Sessions take place online, but they are still professional spaces. Please treat them with the same respect you would bring to an in-person session. This includes:

  • Be seated, settled, and in a private space. Sessions are not suited to cafés, coworking spaces, or environments where others may overhear. This is your dedicated time.

  • Dress appropriately. You don’t need to be formal, but please be clothed in a way that reflects the professionalism of the space.

  • No meals during session. A tea or coffee is fine, but eating can be distracting.

  • Avoid multitasking. Please don’t walk around, do chores, or take calls during our time.

  • If you need to step away briefly—to use the bathroom, get a drink, or answer the door—you’re welcome to do so. Just return when you’re ready to re-engage. Think of it as you would an in-person session: I wouldn’t follow you to the kitchen or bathroom there, and the same applies here.

Session Use & Responsibility

  • Sessions must be used within the active monthly cycle. They do not carry over.

  • Clients are responsible for tracking and scheduling their sessions via the client portal.

  • I do not provide reminders or monitor session usage.

  • If you anticipate illness, travel, or a break, please proactively request an extension in advance. Requests after the cycle ends cannot be retroactively applied.

This is a self-accountable framework. How you engage with the structure is part of the process itself.

Communication Outside of Sessions

  • I am available via email for scheduling, tech issues, and brief check-ins.

  • Clients are welcome to send updates or reflections between sessions. These may inform our next session but will not be processed via email.

  • Voice notes, phone calls, and texting are not part of this container.

All therapeutic processing takes place within the session container.

Confidentiality & Safety

  • All content shared in session is confidential unless disclosure is required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).

  • I do not provide documentation for legal, medical, or employment-related purposes.

  • If interdisciplinary communication (e.g., with a therapist or doctor) is needed, written consent must be provided.

Emergency Support

I am not an emergency care provider. If you are in psychiatric crisis or require immediate assistance, please contact local emergency or mental health services.

If you are under medical or psychiatric oversight, I strongly recommend continuing that care alongside—or prior to—working with me.

Relational Dynamics & Boundaries

This is a professional container, not a personal relationship. While care and resonance may arise, our work centres on your process—not mine.

  • Self-disclosure from me is intentionally minimal. At times, I may offer limited examples or reflections to support your insight, but mutual sharing is not the foundation of trust in this space. Trust is built through consistency, clarity, and depth of presence.

  • It’s common for people to experience relational projections—positive or negative—based on how I show up in the space. These may or may not be confirmed or denied, as they often reveal something meaningful about your internal experience. Working with these dynamics is part of the therapeutic process.

Social invitations, gift exchanges, or out-of-session contact are not appropriate within this framework.

If you’d like to support the work beyond our sessions, the most meaningful ways are through personal referrals or by leaving a review on Google

Termination & Client Rights

  • You are free to pause or discontinue the work at any time.

  • I may end the work in cases of non-payment, misalignment, or if I believe a different form of support would better serve you.

  • This also includes situations where the agreed framework is not being followed—such as repeated missed sessions or prolonged disengagement. This process relies on stable rhythm and active participation.

You are always welcome to ask for clarification around structure, pacing, or process.

Feedback is welcomed.

Methodology & Consent

This work is part of an evolving method. With your consent, anonymised session material (e.g., patterns, language, themes) may be referenced in practitioner training, writing, or teaching. No identifying information will ever be shared.

Consent will be confirmed during the full Client Agreement process.
